Pohatcong
Township is a 14.8 square mile area located on the Southern tip of
Warren County, New Jersey having a population of 3,339 and a transient
population (workers, shoppers, etc.) of approximately 8,000. The
Township has over 50 miles of combined roadways, inclusive of several
heavily traveled State and County Routes. The Township borders both the
Deleware River and the Musconetcong River. Within the last decade there
have been several major changes in the infrastructure, inclusive is the
completion of a new K-8 elementary school, two shopping mall complexes,
the completion of the Interstate Rt 78 corridor (which travels 3.2
miles through the Township) and an additional Green Acres Public Park.
In 2020, the Fire
Company had started
assisting the residents of Pohatcong with EMS and Rescue services. In
the
coming up year, the Fire Department will be adding a Water Rescue Craft
to
assist in water emergencies. With
the
current pandemic, the fire company has been following all CDC
guidelines while
assisting the Township during emergencies and while training. We are very proud of our
volunteers in the
fire company for all that they do throughout the year.
We are also very grateful to our Township
residents and Council for supporting us in our endeavors.
